A-900 Scooter (Bluck & Bawl Jr.)63 viewsThe first lure I have seen from Smithwick using this blank was stamped "My Pet". It was from the late 1950's. During the same time period they used this blank with a flat belly and it was called a "Scooter". This Scooter was produced to a least 1960 and perhaps for a few more years. The earliest chart I have on the Buck & Bawl Jr. is 1963 and it has one spinner on the rear. It shows up like this again in: 1965,late 1960's. By 1972 it is shown with spinners on both front and rear and stays this way into the 1990's. from the 1977 chart to the 1990's we have the F-1100 Buck & Bawl Jr. with two spinners and the A-900 lure with one spinner called the Scooter although the lure itself is stamped Buck & Bawl Jr. I do not have any of the charts for the 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976. So the Scooter using the Buck & Bawl body with one spinner may have emerged sooner than 1977. This lure is in the shrink wrap box and comes in color #4 Green Minnow.Aug 28, 2009

A-900 Scooter54 viewsThe Scooter was a short lived lure with a flat belly. It was probably in circulation for just a couple of years starting around 1955 and lasting perhaps to 1960 or so.
In the 1970's and 1980's the Scooter name and number is used in the color charts on the Buck & Bawl Jr. with one spinner. The lure is stamped Buck & Bawl Jr. but the package carries the Scooter name and number.May 04, 2008

A-900 Scooter52 viewsAnother view of the same bait: This is the oldest Scooter I have seen. It seems to be a bit smaller than the normal Scooter. This one has the heaver hook hardware and has a pointed spinner instead of the bowtie spinner. The color appears to be an older # 1 Pearl finish. The eyes are round rather than the usual oval shape.

A-900 Scooter53 viewsColor: #8 Shad. The Scooter was a short lived lure with a flat belly. It was probably in circulation for just a couple of years starting around 1958. By 1963 they had the single spinner Buck & Bawl JR. out which may have replaced the Scooter sometime in the near past. In the 1970's and 1980's the Scooter name and number is used in the color charts on the Buck & Bawl Jr. with one spinner. The lure is stamped Buck & Bawl Jr. The Buck & Bawl Jr. is marketed at the same time with two spinners.May 04, 2008
