Devels Warhorse2 viewsThis is an interesting lure. It came out of Louisianna. It is stamped ... Devels Warhorse. The Warhorse usually comes with a ball weight on the rear. This one has the Smithwick large spinner on the rear. It also had a Barracuda spinner on the front with a red bead. I cleaned the lure and removed the barracuda spinner and red bead as they were in my opinion added after leaving the factory. Perhaps the rear spinner was also added and the ball weight removed. It is in the non cataloged color Gold/Black Shiner.Sep 03, 2010

C-700 Salt Horse6 viewsTRADED 4-1-07.... This bait has a new home in the Great State of Texas. This is a BIG one. It measures 7 1/2" without the hooks. It was available in the early to mid 1960's..... I know it was available in 1963 and 1965. This lure is marked Devils Horse. Color: #17 Smoke. These are hard to find.

Devils - Sea Horse5 viewsI had never seen a picture of one of these and had not seen the lure before this. We had seen the name "Sea Horse" used interchangable with the "Salt Horse". Now we know they are two distinct lures. They both use the same wood body. But the Sea Horse has a ball weight on the front and the Salt Horse has a diving lip on the front. B-1000 Gandy Dancer7 viewsWhen this lure first came out in 1985 it had a hook hanger for the rear hook. Shortly after introduction they changed it and removed the rear hook hanger and used a screw eye directly out of the rear end and added a ball weight. The ones with just the rear hook hanger are very hard to find. This lure is in a Gold color with Green Stripes.Jul 17, 2010

S-100 Devels Horse Sinker10 viewsHere is another Pre 1955 lure. This lure is stamped... Devels Horse... It has the heavy hook hanger and has the split ring on the line tie. It is in color # 8 Shad with the red gills. It has a different eye color. Black / Gold / Black instead of Black / Yellow / Black. The eye looks Silver in the light indoors. Outdoors it is definately a Gold Leaf color. I have 6 other old Smithwicks in the color # 8 Shad and all of them have the standaed Black / Yellow / Black. One other collector that I know of has an F-200 heavy hook hanger in the color # 9 Yellow Perch with this Gold eye color. Very unique.
